Installation Instructions for K Series Motorcycle Oil Filter

Tools Required:

1. Oil filter wrench (for removal of the old filter)
2. Socket wrench set or adjustable wrench (for removing the drain plug)
3. Oil catch pan (to collect old engine oil)
4. Clean rag or towel (for cleanup)
5. New oil (according to your motorcycle’s specifications)
6. Funnel (for adding new oil)
7. Gloves and safety goggles (for protection)

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Park your motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
   • Allow the engine to cool down if it has been recently run.
   • Wear gloves and safety goggles for protection.

2. Drain Old Oil:

   • Place the oil catch pan under the engine.
   • Use the socket wrench to remove the drain plug and let the old oil drain completely into the pan.
   • Replace and tighten the drain plug once all the oil has drained.

3. Remove Old Oil Filter:

   • Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the old oil filter. Turn it counterclockwise until it comes free.
   • Make sure to inspect the old filter’s rubber O-ring; if it is stuck to the engine, remove it to prevent leaks.

4. Install New Oil Filter:

   • Before installing the new filter, apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber O-ring on the new filter to ensure a good seal.
   • Screw the new filter onto the engine by hand until it is snug, then give it an additional 3/4 turn.

5. Add New Oil:

   • Place a funnel in the oil filler cap opening.
   • Pour the new oil into the engine according to the specifications in your motorcycle's manual.
   • Replace the oil filler cap securely.

6. Check for Leaks:

   • Start your motorcycle and let it idle for a few minutes.
   • Check around the oil filter and drain plug for any signs of leaking.
   • If there are no leaks, you have successfully installed the new oil filter.

7. Cleanup:

   • Dispose of the old oil and filter properly at a recycling center.
   • Clean any spills with a rag or towel.
