Product Installation Instructions for Piston Ring 68.3mm Thin Oil Ring Style
Compatible with 6.0HP and 6.5HP Engine Motors

Tools Required:

1. Socket Set:

   • Various socket sizes for removing and replacing bolts.

2. Wrench Set:

   • Open-end or adjustable wrenches to assist with bolt removal.

3. Torque Wrench:

   • For ensuring proper torque specifications are met when reassembling.

4. Piston Ring Compressor:

   • Helps to fit the piston rings into the cylinder bore easily.

5. Pliers:

   • For handling small parts and securing components if necessary.

6. Gasket Scraper:

   • To remove old gasket material from the engine surfaces.

7. Cleaning Supplies:

   • Shop towels and engine cleaner to keep the work surface tidy.

8. Work Gloves:

   • To protect your hands during installation.

9. Safety Glasses:

   • For eye protection while working on the engine.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Ensure the engine is cool and on a stable surface. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.

2. Remove Engine Components:

   • Use the socket and wrench set to remove any parts obstructing access to the piston, including the cylinder head if necessary.

3. Extract Piston:

   • Carefully remove the piston from the cylinder by detaching it from the connecting rod.

4. Remove Old Rings:

   • Take off the old piston rings and clean the piston grooves thoroughly.

5. Install New Piston Rings:

   • Using the piston ring compressor, carefully install the new 68.3mm thin oil rings onto the piston.

6. Reinstall the Piston:

   • Place the piston back into the cylinder and secure it to the connecting rod.

7. Reassemble Engine Components:

   • Reattach the cylinder head and any other components previously removed, ensuring to use new gaskets as needed.

8. Final Checks:

   • Double-check all bolts for proper torque with the torque wrench and ensure all tools are removed from the workspace.

9. Reconnect Spark Plug Wire:

   • Once everything is reassembled, reconnect the spark plug wire.

10. Test the Engine:

    • Start the engine to ensure everything is functioning correctly and check for any leaks.
