  3. Oil catch pan
    4.Funnel
  4. Clean rags or shop towels
  5. New engine oil (as specified by your motorcycle manufacturer)
  6. Safety gloves (optional)

Installation Steps:

  1. Preparation:

    • Park your motorcycle on a level surface and ensure the engine is cool before starting the installation.
    • Gather all the required tools and materials.
  2. Drain the Old Oil:

    • Place the oil catch pan under the oil drain plug.
    • Remove the drain plug using the appropriate socket or wrench, and allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.
  3. Remove the Old Oil Filter:

    • Locate the old oil filter.
    • Use an adjustable wrench or oil filter wrench to carefully unscrew and remove the old oil filter. Be cautious, as there may still be some oil in the filter.
  4. Prepare the New Oil Filter:

    • Take the new universal oil filter and apply a small amount of new engine oil to the rubber gasket. This will help create a better seal when installed.
  5. Install the New Oil Filter:

    • Screw the new oil filter onto the engine by hand. Once it’s snug, give it a slight additional turn (follow manufacturer recommendations for specific torque if available).
  6. Replace the Drain Plug:

    • Reinstall the drain plug securely once the old oil has fully drained.
  7. Add New Engine Oil:

    • Using a funnel, pour the new engine oil into the engine through the oil filler cap. Refer to your motorcycle’s owner manual for the correct oil type and quantity.
  8. Check for Leaks:

    • Start your motorcycle and let it idle for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
    • If no leaks are present, you’ve successfully installed the new oil filter.
  9. Clean Up:

    • Dispose of the old oil and filter properly. Wipe down any spills with clean rags or shop towels to keep your workspace tidy.

Note:
Always consult your motorcycle's owner manual for specific instructions that may pertain to your model. Regular maintenance can significantly enhance your motorcycle's performance and longevity.
