Product Installation Instructions for Compatible Rear Brake Pads

Required Tools:

Before you begin the installation process, ensure you have the following tools ready:

1. Wrench Set: To remove the rear caliper and associated components.
2. Socket Set: For the necessary bolts and nuts.
3. Torque Wrench: To ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Flathead Screwdriver: To assist in removing the old brake pads if needed.
5. Pliers: To handle any retaining clips or springs.
6. Brake Cleaner: For cleaning the brake caliper and components before installation.
7. Lint-Free Cloth: To wipe down surfaces and ensure good contact.
8. Brake Grease: To lubricate moving parts as needed during installation.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Park your motorcycle on a stable surface and use a center stand or paddock stand for support.
   • Ensure the rear wheel is off the ground for easy access.

2. Remove the Rear Wheel:

   • Use the appropriate wrenches and sockets to remove the rear wheel from the motorcycle.
   • Carefully place the wheel aside.

3. Access the Brake Caliper:

   • Locate the rear brake caliper. Use the wrench or socket to remove the caliper mounting bolts.
   • Gently slide the caliper off the rotor.

4. Remove Old Brake Pads:

   • Carefully remove any retaining clips or springs.
   • Take out the old brake pads from the caliper.

5. Prepare the Caliper:

   • Use brake cleaner and a lint-free cloth to clean the caliper and surrounding areas.
   • Examine the caliper for wear or damage before proceeding.

6. Install New Brake Pads:

   • Insert the new brake pads into the caliper, ensuring they fit snugly.
   • Reattach any retaining clips or springs to secure the pads in place.

7. Reinstall the Brake Caliper:

   • Slide the caliper back onto the rotor.
   • Tighten the mounting bolts with the torque wrench to the manufacturer’s specifications.

8. Reattach Rear Wheel:

   • Place the rear wheel back onto the motorcycle.
   • Secure the wheel using the proper wrenches and torque specifications.

9. Final Checks:

   • Before lowering the motorcycle or taking it for a ride, pump the brake lever a few times to ensure the brake pads make proper contact with the rotor.
   • Check for any unusual noises or issues.

10. Test Drive:

    • Take a short test ride to ensure the brakes function correctly, allowing for proper break-in of the new pads.
