Installation Instructions for Universal Carbon Fiber Intake Reed Valve

Required Tools:

• Torx screwdriver (for removing stock intake manifold)
• Allen wrench (for tightening and loosening intake manifold bolts)
• Socket wrench or ratchet and socket (for removing stock intake manifold screws)
• Pliers or punch (for gently prying off old intake reed valve gasket)
• New gasket (provided with the universal intake reed valve kit)
• Optional: intake manifold cleaner and degreaser

Step 1: Prepare the Area

• Locate a well-ventilated workspace to minimize the risk of inhaling dust or debris.
• Ensure the motorcycle or ATV is parked on a level surface.

Step 2: Remove the Intake Manifold

• Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the bolts holding the intake manifold in place.
• Gently pry off the old intake manifold using a flathead screwdriver or a plastic trim removal tool.
• Be careful not to damage any surrounding components.

Step 3: Remove the Old Intake Reed Valve

• Use a socket wrench or ratchet and socket to remove the screws holding the old intake reed valve in place.
• Gently pull out the old intake reed valve and discard.

Step 4: Install the New Intake Reed Valve

• Take the new universal intake reed valve and align it with the mounting points on the intake manifold.
• Use the provided screws to secure the new intake reed valve in place.
• Tighten the screws firmly, but avoid over-tightening.

Step 5: Reinstall the Intake Manifold

• Place the intake manifold back onto the engine, ensuring proper alignment.
• Use the Torx screwdriver to secure the intake manifold in place.
• Tighten the bolts firmly, but avoid over-tightening.

Step 6: Install the New Gasket

• Take the new gasket provided with the universal intake reed valve kit and apply a thin layer of intake manifold cleaner or degreaser to both sides of the gasket.
• Place the gasket onto the intake manifold, ensuring proper alignment.

Step 7: Test and Verify

• Start the engine and check for any leaks around the new intake reed valve and gasket.
• Verify that the engine is running smoothly and there are no unusual noises or vibrations.
